Your Playschool- Team ❤

I hope everyone is feeling well. Ella and I were out and about yesterday looking for the things on our checklist. Ella was curious about some signs we came across, so we made a list for you! Next time you`are out and about, look out for the following signs!

Ein Bild, das Schild, Gras, draußen, Straße enthält. Automatisch generierte Beschreibung

Our little ones are always so curious!

  • Talk about the different colours on the signs
  • Look for numbers, shapes and letters
  • Discuss the meaning of the signs
  • Design your own sign! Maybe a sign for the bedroom door, or a sign for washing hands in the bathroom!
  • Let your child be curious and creative!

Have a great day, wrap up warm when you go out and about!

Hello Parents, and happy Tuesday! Hope everyone is ok and staying calm and healthy during this time. This time is truly offering us an opportunity to slow things down, right? An opportunity to sit with our little ones, and close our eyes, together sitting in calming relaxing silence. Although, this is easier said than done with our little ones who are bursting with energy most of the time. Nevertheless, today I invite you to sit in a short meditation with the little ones, focusing on the concept of comparisons.  Children learn very early to compare who they are and what they have with those around them. Big, bigger, biggest, or. Good, better, best. “mine is the best, yours is ugly” this is an example of what children can say to each other.

Self-assurance comes from within, along with beauty. This assurance and self-confidence can be developed through mediation practices, just like this one. It is called Sitting with our Beauty.  Have the children sit or lie on the floor, while you mummy and daddy read out the following,

  • Close your eyes and relax
  • Just watch what comes into your head
  • You are beautiful
  • It´s not the clothes that make you beautiful
  • It´s not your toys that make you beautiful
  • None of the nice things you have make you beautiful
  • Picture Bokskids.org https://www.bokskids.org/news/may-month-of-mindfulness/ Article reference. Yoga games for children, 2003, Danielle Bersma and Marjoke Visscher, Hunter House Pub  You are always beautiful, because you are you
  • You are not more beautiful than anyone else
  • You are beautiful in a different way, but that’s not important
  • What is important is that you know you are beautiful on the inside
  • You are beautiful on the inside because you are kind, patent and loving towards others

The aim here is to help our little ones understand that it´s just not necessary to compare themselves to others. We are all beautiful for being us, a rose does not compare itself to a lily, a dog doesn’t compare itself to a cat. We are all special and beautiful, simply because we are ourselves. This therefore, is a beautiful lesson for the children to learn from an early age.

I hope you enjoy this lovely mediation, have a lovely day.

BRIEFE

Viel Freude beim Gestalten 😊!

Keep calm & play on…
