To all the little Kinderrgarten ARTISTS (= Künstler), please find enclosed an empty canvas (= Leinwand) on an easel (= Staffelei).

You – as an artist – may create your own version of a “CORONA VIRUS”. Just imagine what the scientist would see through his/her microscope if he/she looked at one! 😉

You may use colored pencils, paint  or any other material. Have fun and get creative! Maybe you want to send us a photo of your masterpieces.

Looking forward to your PIECES OF ART! 😊

Hello Parents, and welcome to the start of this week’s newsletter. How is everyone? I hope you’re all doing great and keeping calm and healthy. I have a lovely pair game for you today, it called “lean on me”. It’s a lovely challenge which encourages communication and team work. So, let’s start!

  • Sit with your little one back to back on the floor
  • For an extra challenge start with legs crossed
  • Tell them that you two will work together to stand up with your backs still touching.
  • The catch? Backs must not come apart and hands cannot touch the floor
  • Partners have to try and use each other’s backs for support
  • You and your little one can’t see each other and must rely on feeling the other persons movement to know what to do themselves.

This game requires true cooperation, communication and teamwork skills. It also helps develop children’s, and adults, sense of awareness. Particularly aiding in public self-awareness, this is important due to our little ones needing to understand that other people have thoughts, feelings, and perspectives different from theirs. This challenge will help develop this. Hope you enjoy this game and have a laugh in the process, as this is always the most important thing, laughter and fun.

I hope you all enjoyed the weekend. We took advantage of the weather and went out and about outside. We saw and heard many signs of spring. With it being so quiet outdoors right now, due to less traffic and people, we are now able to hear more defined sounds.

So next time you are out and about LISTEN and LOOK for signs of spring! You or your child may want to create a checklist. Here´s an example: Ella drew, a sun, snowflakes, a flower, a bee, a cat, a rainbow and a car!

Just tick off each picture when it has been seen or heard, during your next walk!

We also saw some RAINBOW WINDOWS when we were out and about. It reminded me of this Rainbow EXPERIMENT:

YOU NEED:

 5 Jars or small glasses

  • Food colouring – Blue, red and yellow
  • Water
  • Kitchen roll

EXPERIMENT:

  • Prepare the coloured water, as shown above
  • Line up the jars, blue jar, empty jar, red jar, empty jar, yellow jar
  • Fold 4 pieces of kitchen roll, creating long strips
  • Place one end of the kitchen roll into the blue water and the second end onto the empty jar next to it
  • Take the second piece of kitchen roll, place one end into the empty jar and place the second end into the red jar
  • Take the third piece and place one end into the red jar and the second end into the empty jar
  • Take the last piece, place one end into the empty jar and the second end into the yellow jar
  • Leave a while for the magic to work!
  • Observe what happens!

Have a great day!

Keep calm & play on….
